The cool air made the view across the water very crisp and clear. This is one of the few times it has been cold enough in Cowichan Bay for the water from the river actually freeze on top of the ocean.

I came across these birds early one morning walking on Bates Beach in Courtenay

It is a view that really takes your breath away

near Squamish

Many of the hikers had stopped to leave their mark on one of the many floats that wash up on the beaches

This is a 16" x 20" piece - smaller than my usual - but it gave me a chace to focus on the soft glow of a late afternoon by the water

The majestic Mount Prevost provides a stunning backdrop

The combination of colours gives the painting a tranquil feel

I loved the way the bold colours of the kayaks contrasted the subtle tones of the rocks

I loved the contrast of the sails against the blues of the image
